DSO PRESENTS HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR WITH ‘HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS’

Detroit, (December 13, 2012) – The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) announces a night of holiday fun and joy as they present some of Detroit’s favorite holiday musical traditions with Home For The Holidays at Orchestra Hall. The performances, featuring pieces like Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus from Messiah and Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, will take place on Friday, December 21 at 10:45 a.m. and 8 p.m.; Saturday, December 22 at 3 p.m. and 8pm and Sunday, December 23 at 3p.m. Cincinnati Pops Conductor as well as guest conductor and Music Director of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, John Morris Russell will lead the orchestra in this holiday celebration and evening of favorites.

Local soprano Kisma Jordan, along with the Andover High School Choir and the Grosse Pointe South High School Pointe Singers will join the Orchestra in presenting such seasonal staples as “Ave Maria” and “Ding Dong! Merrily on High.”
