More than 5,000 Attend DSO @ Ford House Concerts for Great Music, Weather & Cheer

Concerts Exceed Attendance Goal of 3,000

DETROIT, (July 12, 2010) – The shores of Grosse Pointe were alive with beautiful music, families, great weather and cheer on Fri., July 9 and Sat., July 10 as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Edsel & Eleanor Ford House (Ford House) presented their inaugural collaborative concerts, The DSO at Ford House, on the lakeside terrace of the historic home. More than 5,000 attendees, exceeding an original goal of 3,000, enjoyed the music of Benny Goodman with Dave Bennett and his Sextet on Friday, and popular classical music on Saturday, while enjoying the stunning surroundings of the estate.

“We are so pleased to have brought this wonderful experience to the community,” remarked Kathleen Mullins, president of Ford House. “The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with words like ‘magical,’ ‘unforgettable,’ and ‘perfect’ being used to describe our guests’ experiences.”
