Last Concert Today in Miami!

Our week in FL is swiftly coming to a close. We are in Sarasota (it’s 6:30am as I write) now and will board our tour buses for the 4 hour trip to Miami at 9am. Estimated arrival is 1pm. Our concert is at 4pm in Miami. That means that between 1pm and 4pm, we must check-in at the hotel, have a quick rest, get to the concert hall, change into concert wardrobe, warm-up…and then play a concert at 4pm. Our job as professional musicians means that we will be ready and performing at top-notch by the downbeat of that 4pm concert, despite the quick turn-around from bus to concert stage.

I am so proud to be a member of this orchestra. We have played fabulous concerts all over FL this week. Our soloist, Sol Gabetta (cellist) has been playing beautifully for each performance. Leonard seems very happy with how the orchestra is sounding, and our audiences are greeting us very enthusiastically.

Thank you for reading my blogging from FL Tour, and thank you for your support of the DSO!

See you back at Orchestra Hall!

Caroline Coade, violist
