Florida Bound

This weekend’s concert by the Detroit Symphony offers home audiences a sampling of the programming that awaits Florida fans on next week’s tour of the “Sunshine State.” On tonight’s program: Peter Mennin’s evocative work Concertato: “Moby Dick,” Samuel Barber’s Cello Concerto Op. 22 and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2. Florida audiences will also hear Berlioz’ Overture “Le Corsaire” and the Rachmaninoff Second Symphony (which was recently released by the DSO on Naxos). READ MORE
